This privacy policy outlines the way XtendBeard (https://www.xtendbeard.com/) collects and uses the personal information of its users. It applies to all products, services and information offered on this website.

1 - PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
  • “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you:

  • First name, last name
  • E-mail address
  • Billing address and delivery address: street, house number, city, ZIP code, province/state, country
  • Phone number.

We refer to this information as “Order Information.” This information is collected upon creating a user account.

Creating an account is optional and is not obligatory for placing an order. Orders can be placed by guest users, whereas providing a delivery address and an e-mail address is necessary for delivery.

Additional information such as an alternative delivery address (f.e. when ordering a gift) might be collected.

All passwords are encrypted.

Your IP address is visible to the website administrator. The administrator can also identify users by their e-mail addresses or other personal data.

When placing an order, an automatic order number is assigned to it. This information can later be used by the user to obtain additional information on the status of the order and additional delivery information, whenever available.

When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

How our website uses cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks for permission to be placed on your computer’s hard drive. By using this site you agree to the small cookie file to be added as the cookie helps us analyze web traffic. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. For example, the web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes, and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

www.xtendbeard.com uses traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyze data about webpage traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. www.xtendbeard.com only uses this information for statistical analysis, marketing, and remarketing purposes.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website – the best way to prevent sites using cookies like XtendBeard is to simply not access them.

3 - CONSENT

When you purchase a product, you can either create an account or buy it as a guest. Upon purchase, you give us your consent to collect the personal data that you’re providing us with, either as a guest or as an account holder, for the purposes of fulfilling your order.

When you sign up for our newsletter, you give us your consent to use your e-mail address for us to send you promotional e-mail messages. We will not give information on your e-mail address or provide said e-mail address to a third party for any reason.

If you wish to unsubscribe from our newsletter, you can do so by following the “Unsubscribe” link at the end of any of the e-mails that we have sent you.

If you wish to withdraw your consent regarding collecting and using any of the information you provide us with, you can do so by contacting us.

Third-party services

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies with respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

For these providers, we recommend that you read their privacy policies so you can understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by these providers.

In particular, remember that certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. So if you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.

As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.

Once you leave our store’s website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer governed by this Privacy Policy or our website’s Terms of Service.

5 - SHOPIFY, PAYMENTS AND PAYMENT INFORMATION

We do not collect or store payment, credit card information or bank details.

All transactions are handled by our service providers, PayPal and Shopify. For more information on how they handle the data that you provide them, please refer to their own Privacy Policies, as well as to the general information provided below.

Our store is hosted by Shopify Inc. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you.

Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases, and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payments

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.

PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

For more information on how Shopify handles your data, please refer to their Privacy Policy (https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy) and Terms of Service (https://www.shopify.com/legal/terms).

Payments Security

If you provide any credit card information to our service providers (PayPal, Shopify) while ordering any products at our website, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with an AES-256 encryption. Although no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, we follow all PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional generally accepted industry standards.
